From macroeconomic forecasts to individual stock analysis, our team develops tools and insights to help shape investment strategies for clients and the firm. Our analysts work on client-focused research in the equity, fixed-income, currency, and commodities markets, mining big data that enters markets around the world each day to identify game-changing insights. JOB DESCRIPTIONWe are seeking an economist to join the US Economics team in New York. Economists will:Write weekly economic research reports for a large global audience Present the team’s economic views to a wide range of clients globallyForecast GDP, the labor market, inflation, and monthly economic indicatorsClosely follow and forecast US monetary policy decisionsInterpret and comment on high-frequency economic data releasesPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS PhD in Economics or other strong research experience in markets or at a central bankStrong interest in macroeconomics and monetary policyExperience producing original and ambitious economic research Solid background in econometric analysis, statistics, math, and programmingExcellent writing skillsStrong communication and presentation skillsAbility to work both autonomously and in a team setting Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to handle a demanding workloadABOUT GOLDMAN SACHS

Salary Range The expected base salary for this New York, NY, United States-based position is $150000-$225000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
