Legal Counsel Opportunity At Obrio

We are currently looking for a Legal Counsel to join our Legal team. You will focus on working with contracts, corporate documents, and intellectual property issues, as well as developing legal compliance in areas of consumer rights protection and personal data protection. You will influence legal business support in jurisdictions of North America, the United Kingdom, and Europe.

In the team, you will work at the intersection of product, marketing, tech, finance, and HR — as well as with law firms and vendors from various jurisdictions as needed.

Your direct manager will be Artem Bilohryshchenko, Head of Legal — a strong legal leader who combines deep legal expertise with an understanding of the needs of a technology business.

What challenges await you?

• Providing legal support to business with a focus on jurisdictions of North America, the United Kingdom, and Europe
• Developing product compliance in areas of consumer rights protection, e-commerce, personal data protection, and payments
• Building and protecting an intellectual property portfolio — registering trademarks in the USA, EU, and other key jurisdictions

We see your impact in:

• Preparing and reviewing contracts and other legal documents
• Supporting the corporate structures of the group of companies
• Researching and analyzing legal risks in jurisdictions of company presence
• Implementing legal compliance in marketing, consumer rights protection, e-commerce, personal data protection, and payments
• Improving legal processes and legal operations — automation, standardization, and optimization of work with documents

What is important to us?

• You have 2+ years of relevant experience in a leading law firm, Big 4 company, or tech company
• You have a diploma from one of the leading law universities in Ukraine (a diploma from a foreign university will be an advantage)
• You understand contract and commercial law, legal issues in the tech sphere, personal data protection, compliance, and/or IP
• You are fluent in English, including basic legal writing skills
• You take initiative and lead a wide range of legal tasks independently, approaching creatively where others see dead ends
• You do not stop halfway in complex legal issues and constantly strive to develop your legal skills in a dynamic environment
• You recognize yourself in the values of Obrio — GREAT
