Job Title: Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Job Location: West Hollywood, CA

Duration: 13 Weeks

Position Type: Travel / Local Contract

Shift: Day Shift

Schedule:

• 3 × 12-Hour Shifts
• 36 Hours Per Week
• Weekend Requirement: Yes – Every Other Weekend

Compensation – 36 Hours/Week:

• Travelers: $68–$72/hour
• Local Candidates: $50–$63/hour

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D) to provide comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout the labor, delivery, and postpartum process. The ideal candidate will have strong L&D experience, including high-risk antepartum care , and previous experience working in a teaching hospital environment.

This position requires flexibility to rotate through multiple areas of the maternal-child health service line, including L&D, circulating, newborn care, triage, and high-risk antepartum.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients throughout labor and delivery.
• Perform comprehensive maternal and fetal assessments.
• Monitor fetal heart rate patterns and maternal vital signs.
• Assist with labor management and delivery procedures.
• Care for patients with high-risk antepartum conditions.
• Provide postpartum and newborn support as assigned.
• Function as a circulator during surgical deliveries and procedures.
• Provide newborn care and support as the designated Baby RN.
• Perform triage assessments and prioritize patients based on clinical condition.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, neonatologists, anesthesia providers, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Recognize changes in maternal or fetal condition and respond appropriately.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.
• Provide patient and family education regarding labor, delivery, newborn care, and postpartum needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital policies.
• Float between assigned L&D service areas according to operational needs.

Required Qualifications Experience

• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required .
• High-Risk Antepartum experience required.
• Teaching hospital experience required.
• First-time travelers accepted with a minimum of 3 years of L&D RN experience .
• Strong experience with maternal and fetal assessment and high-risk obstetric care.

Licensure

• Active California RN License required at the time of submission.
• Pending California RN licenses will not be accepted.

Certifications

Current certifications required:

• ACLS
• BLS
• NRP

Floating Requirements

Floating/rotation is required. The RN may rotate through:

• Labor & Delivery
• L&D Circulator
• Baby RN / Newborn Care
• Triage
• High-Risk Antepartum
